Producers’ Pool is a network of creative producers and programmers training in, working in, or managing the theatre and creative sector. It has no office, no membership subscription, no board, or hierarchy. After a break in 2024/5 when we were launching the online platform and networking database Producers’ Persona we will restart meetings from January 2026 to complement the 24/7 online connecting tool.

Producers’ Pool is for producers and programmers of other people’s work. Producers’ Pool is not a pitch meeting for projects. We welcome both early-career and established producers; producers of commercial and subsidised work and organisations; building based and freelancers; fringe, local, national and international producers. It is for people who juggle many of these different forms of producing in an overwhelming portfolio. It is for you…if you are a producer
In 2012 Julie Clare undertook the StageOne West End producers’ course and out of that grew a desire to connect on a regular basis with her peers. In 2015 she handed the operation and development of the small network to CGO and we have grown it steadily by hosting open regular meetings across those 9 years. The poolside logo was created for us by Guy Chapman and his design team and now, April 2023, we take a moment to explore a new logo identity created by Lewis Forman – but not a new ‘offer’
Producers’ Pool brings producers together to answer two ongoing questions “What do you need?”; and “What can you offer?”. It is a space for the exchange of creative ideas and knowledge. Meetings are structured around particular issues, and people can begin to work on projects created through a connection made at a meeting.
We welcome producers from all countries and backgrounds. We encourage MA Students and graduates from the major Creative Producing courses at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Mountview to attend, alongside the alumni and students of the Diploma courses run under the CGO Institute and Maverick brands. It is in this way that CGO can honestly say that it can connect to 20-30 countries across the world of theatre to get hands-on, grass roots information when needed.
Meetings are will be held once a month, historically in London but now alternating London and Zoom a. There is a small charge (usually £5-10 to defray costs) to attend meetings, but it is free to join our Facebook network.
We would be delighted to hear from anyone wishing to create a Producers’ Pool in their professional geographic or artform community. Predominantly the membership is of theatre producers, but individuals cross many artforms. Producers’ Pool is open to anyone who self-identifies as a producer or programmer of other people’s work in whatever medium.
